Description
Lorna’s keynote will focus on how the OER Conference has examined and renegotiate what “OER” means over the years, and how this has reflected her own journey as an open education practitioner. She’ll also be looking at what we can do to ensure that open education is diverse, inclusive and participatory, and using innovative examples from the University of Edinburgh, she’ll explore how we can engage students in open education practice and the co-creation of OER.
About the presenter
Lorna works for the University of Edinburgh’s OER Service within the Learning Teaching and Web Services Directorate. She has a longstanding personal commitment to supporting open education; she founded the Open Scotlandinitiative, was co-chair of the OER16 Open Culture Conference, is a Trustee of Wikimedia UK and of the Association for Learning Technology, and a member of the Open Knowledge Open Education Working Group Advisory Board. Lorna is also the driving force behind the Scottish Open Education Declaration.
